Diageo has revealed its 2023 Spirited Xchange Special Releases Scotch Whisky Collection, an annual compilation of limited-edition single malt releases.
The 2023 lineup consists of eight bottles selected by Master Blender Dr. Stuart Morrison to highlight each distillery’s characteristics with unique cask finishes.
Each of these bottles display work from one of eight artists from across the globe. The artworks are also meant as visual tasting notes.
The 2023 Spirited Xchange Special Releases Scotch Whisky Collection include:
- Lagavulin “The Ink of Legends” — finished in a combination of Don Julio Añejo tequila casks. Suggested retail price: $170 per 750-ml. bottle
- Mortlach “The Katana’s Edge” — finished in ex-Kanosuke Japanese whisky and ex-Pinot Noir casks. SRP: $280
- The Singleton “The Silken Gown” — finished in Chardonnay de Bourgogne French Oak casks. SRP: $135
- Talisker “The Wild Explorador” — finished in a combination of White, Tawny and Ruby Port Casks. SRP: $135
- Roseisle joins the Special Releases collection for the first time with its first public release: “The Origami Kite,“ with sweet vanilla notes and a touch of molasses, the company reports. SRP: $150
- Glenkinchie “The Floral Treasure” — 27 Year Old expression. SRP: $400
- Oban “The Soul of Calypso” — finished in Caribbean pot still rum casks. SRP: $140
- Clynelish “The Jazz Crescendo” — matured in ex-bourbon American Oak casks. SRP: $200
The 2023 Special Releases collection is available in limited quantities from select spirits retailers in the U.S. and on Malts.com.
This follows the release of Diageo’s 2023 Distillers Edition Scotch whiskies.
