How do you spend your leisure time when you’re on a business trip? According to a survey by Four Points by Sheraton hotels, for most people, it’s in the bar.
In the Four Points brand’s most recent global survey of more than 6,000 business travelers across six countries, the plurality (43%) said they spent the time in a bar or restaurant with colleagues. To be fair, nearly as many (39%) said they spent their free time when traveling for business at the gym, while 38% said they spent time at the spa. And if “sleep” were an answer option, it would probably be a highly rated free-time activity.
Still, the study shows that the bar remains a draw for business travelers, which is good news for hotels. Anytime you can get the guest out of the room, it stands to boost business. Four Points by Sheraton, owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, operates more then hotels in more than 30 countries.
