Jack Daniel’s Opens Jack’s Bar and Grill in Dubai Airport
To bring the Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey experience to consumers traveling around the world, the first Jack’s Bar & Grill opened in March 21 in Dubai International airport. The contemporary concept bar, designed and operated by MMI and Emirates Leisure Retail, offers an atmosphere of southern hospitality and a menu that’s true to the Lynchburg, TN-based whiskey distillery’s roots.

Smokey Bones Beefs up Beverage Program
Fire-grill restaurant chain Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill aims to upgrade the drink experience with a new beverage book. Launched in February, the book includes 14 new signature cocktails, including the Blood Orange Passion Rita, Fresh Diamond Margarita, and Smokin’ Cucumber Mary, as well as a new lineup of craft beers. The new beverage offerings complement Smokey Bones’ new menu, which was introduced in December.
The Lowdown on Low-Cal Cocktails
Guests with an eye on their health (and their reflections in the mirror) are demanding low-calorie liquid options at restaurants and bars. So-called “skinny cocktails” strive to give patrons the flavor and experience of conventional libations, with a fraction of the calories and sugar. While you can’t really consider them health drinks, these sips are less guilty alternatives to help cocktail-loving customers stay on track with their fitness and weight goals.

Here’s something to chew on: Restaurant chains that serve more lower-calorie foods and beverages outperform those that don’t, according to a study released last month by the Hudson Institute.
