The worker strike at two Jim Beam distilleries has ended, according to reports.

The strike began last week when workers walked out of the shifts at their union refused a new contact offer from Jim Beam for the second time in as many weeks. Employees were protesting that they must work 60 to 80 hours per week to keep up with the current booming demand for Jim Beam whiskey. Staffing shortages have also reportedly led to the overtime issues, and there was also reportedly concern over whether seniority was being properly protected.

What ended the strike was a new deal struck between Jim Beam and the union reps. The company says that the new contact takes into account work-life balance, reducing reliance on temporary workers, and improved overtime management.

Both of the striking distilleries remailer open and operational during the walk out, and Jim Beam does not expect any shortage in product sent out to distributors and retailers.
