Red Robin is at it again: The burger chain that introduced a beer milkshake in fall 2012 and beer cocktails in summer 2013 has uncorked a seasonal wine shake. The Mango Moscato Wine Shake combines Alice White Moscato and Skyy Infusions Moscato vodka with mango purée and vanilla soft-serve ice cream. Developed by Red Robin’s master mixologist Donna Ruch, the shake will be available nationwide through Sept. 1.
Why a wine shake? The Greenwood, CO-based chain wanted to capitalize on the growing popularity of wine–and the moscato varietal in particular–during the past few years, according to Ruch. Red Robin also introduced Citrus Moscato Fizz cocktail for spring, a blend of Skyy Infusions Moscato vodka with muddled citrus and soda.
To go with the new moscato cocktails, Red Robin has expanded its premium burger line with two new offerings: The D.G.B. (Damn Great Burger) is made with oven-roasted tomatoes, savory roasted garlic aioli and fresh arugula tossed in citrus olive oil dressing, and the Black & Bleu boasts sautéed, blackened Portobello mushrooms, grilled onions, house-made Bleu cheese sauce and Bleu cheese crumbles with Dijon sauce.
Other new Red Robin menu items for spring include Red’s Tavern Fries, smothered in Red’s Secret Tavern Sauce, American cheese and bacon bits, and Chocolate Banana Chunk Bite-Tini—crispy bread pudding bites with a soft, chocolatey middle and finished with a chocolate-banana drizzle.
