After slipping 1.3% in 2011, total beer consumption stabilized a bit in 2012. According to the Beverage Information Group (the research unit of Cheers‘ parent company), beer consumption reached 2.8 billion 2.25-gallon cases in 2012, though that’s up less than 1% from 2011. Imported beer fared slightly better, posting a 1.5% increase.

Anchor Brewing has released BigLeaf Maple Autumn Red. Inspired by a native California tree, the 6% ABV BigLeaf Maple Autumn Red is a red ale with a hint of maple syrup that complements the malty complexity, balanced hoppiness, and rich fall hue, the company says. The seasonal BigLeaf Maple Autumn Red will be available through October.
Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice
Kahlúa has launched its latest seasonally inspired flavor, Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice. The autumn offering features a seasonal twist of natural pumpkin and fragrant spices blended with 100% Arabica coffee and sugarcane rum, according to the company. Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice is 20% ABV and will be available through Dec. 31 for a suggested retail price of $17.99 for a 750-ml. bottle.
