Everyday is pretty much Margarita day in the U.S., but for National Margarita Day on Feb. 22, The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park in El Paso, TX, is going over the top with a $1,500 version of the tequila cocktail. The hotel boasts the country’s largest and rarest agave spirits collection and can mix up a super exclusive — and expensive –’Rita for guests looking to celebrate the drink in a big way.
Offered at the property’s eatery, Ambar Restaurante, the $1,500 Margarita features top-shelf ingredients such as Patrón en Lalique – Serie 3 tequila, Grand Marnier Grande Cuvée Révélation, cold-pressed lemon juice and amethyst bamboo salt. Oh, and it’s topped with a CornucAupia Pure 24K edible gold garnish and served in a Lalique specialty glass.
If you don’t have quite that much to spend on a specialty Margarita, Para Maria at The Envoy Hotel in Boston is offering The Quintessential Margarita for just $500. It’s made with Grand Marnier Grande Cuveé Quintessence — the cocktail’s most expensive and star-studded ingredient — as well as Mayenda blanco tequila and fresh-pressed lime juice.
