We’re not sure why National Cotton Candy Day is in December, or why it’s the same day as Pearl Harbor Day, or even why there is a Cotton Candy Day at all. But there is, and it’s Dec. 7.
We would normally let this one go by unnoticed, but the folks over at Blue Chair Bay rum sent us a holiday mailer with the fixins to make The Candy Stand Daiquiri. So maybe we’ll be raising a toast to cotton candy this year after all.
The cocktail uses a Blue Chair Bay coconut rum cotton candy from Pandy Cotton Candy. Based in Nashville (which is where cotton candy was invented in 1897—by a dentist!), Pandy sells the flavored-rum confection online. But if you happen to have any cotton candy on hand, that will probably do.
The Candy Stand Daiquiri

¾ oz. Simple syrup
½ oz. Blue Curaçao
