2 oz. Hangar 1 straight vodka
¾ oz. Strawberry-shiso syrup*
1 ½ oz. Lime juice
Shiso leaf, for garnish
Combine all liquid ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake, then strain into in a rocks glass. Garnish with shiso leaf.
*For Strawberry-shiso syrup:
(Yields 5 cups)
7 oz. Fresh strawberries
½ cup Water
½ cup Sugar
¼ tsp. Salt
2 ¼ tsp. Fresh lemon juice
Bring all ingredients to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, bring back to a simmer. Simmer for about 3 hours, cut off the heat and let sit. After about 30 min, add 10 to 15 large, clean shiso leaves. Bring to room temperature and strain. Cooking time may vary per volume of syrup.
