The Times Square Edition, Ian Schrager’s buzzy new hotel, boasts not one, not two, but three distinct carts offering tableside service. The luxury hotel’s 701West restaurant includes a Champagne trolley (shown atop) curated by wine director Amy Racine.
The bubbly selections include Krug, Grand Cuvée; Dom Perignon, Brut; Taittinger, Brut Prestige Cuvée; Paul Laurent, Brut; and Château Rives-Blanques.
701West also has a cheese cart paired with vintage Calvados. The array of artisanal cheeses, which are cut to order, include Lou Bren, Europa, Adarre Reserve, Juliana, Pollenbert and Bleu des Basques; the Calvados selections are Lelouvier Domfrontain (1977 & 1987) and Drouin (NV, 1939, 1959 & 1972); Calvados prices range from $22 to $335.
Finally, there’s the Manhattan Cart at the Times Square Edition’s Paradise Club, created by beverage director Salvatore Tafuri. Guests can choose between a bespoke single barrel Marker’s Mark bourbon, El Tesoro tequila or rye. The cocktails are blended à la minute by a designated bartender with a house blend of vermouths, as well as house-made cherries.
