A multi-city bourbon pop-up experience celebrating America’s native spirit has been making its way across the U.S. The Bourbon Legends Boxcar Tour, powered by Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Knob Creek and Basil Hayden’s, has already hit three cities this fall to offer bourbon fans the opportunity to explore the unique stories, distilleries, people and tastes that have shaped the modern era of the whiskey.
The 2018 Bourbon Legends Boxcar Tour kicked off in September—Bourbon Heritage Month—making its first stop in Denver. Each stop includes a by-invitation event (participants need to obtain an access code in advance via email from the Bourbon Legend’s Boxcar website) at which attendees interact with bourbon experts as they lead enhanced tastings that explain the notes, flavors and nuances of the featured whiskeys.
The immersive bourbon experience includes a multi-sensory interpretation of Kentucky’s rolling landscapes and into its storied distilleries. Guests can raise their “Bourbon IQ” by exploring four distinct event spaces that bring these whiskeys to life. Visitors also enjoy bespoke bourbon cocktails, Kentucky barbeque, music and more.
The tour, which harkens back to the mid-19th century when the railroad and boxcar transported bourbon from Kentucky to the rest of U.S., hit Houston and Cleveland earlier this month. The Bourbon Legends Boxcar Tour is scheduled to arrive in New York on Nov. 16.
