The fast-emerging whiskey brand Penelope Bourbon has announced their new American Light Whiskey 13 Years Old.
This is the first release in a series. It highlights a collection of American Light Whiskey barrels distilled from corn at Seagrams Indiana in 2008.
Aged in 2nd fill oak barrels, this spirit has vanilla notes with a hint of cinnamon and creme brûlée, the company reports.
This light whiskey is bottled at cask strength, 128.4 proof. Light whiskey, a growing trend, means higher in proof but lighter in flavor.
Uncut, non chill-filtered, Penelope American Light Whiskey 13 Years Old has a mash bill of 99% corn.
This new release is available in most Penelope markets. The suggested retail price is $80 per 750-ml. bottle.
This follows the recent release of Penelope Bourbon Barrel Strength Batch 08.
