Beginning this month, Don Papa Rum will be available in the U.S. for the first time.

The Bleeding Heart Rum Company will import the Philippines premium rum brand, following previous successful launches in Europe and Asia.

Don Papa Rum will first be available  at select retailers in New York City and Boston, followed by other spirits retailers nationwide.

The suggested retail price is $39.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

Don Papa Rum is made on the Philippine island of Negros. The rums age for up to seven years in a humid climate in American oak barrels. The resulting rum is light and fruity on the nose, the company says, with notes of vanilla, honey and candied fruits.
