With holiday season upon us, Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore has released its most recent regional beer: Guinness Gingerbread Stout.
Available at the brewery and retailers throughout the Mid-Atlantic, this stout showcases wintertime spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger.
The 2021 version of this seasonal offering is 6% ABV. That’s a lighter alcohol volume than last year’s barrel-aged iteration.
Although the spices in the beer create a sweet flavor, similar to those you would use while baking, the beer should not be limited to holiday cookies and sweets, the company says. Pair it with roasted meats and savory mains to bring forward the richness of flavor in the beer.
