Actor Nick Offerman, known for his roles on Parks and Recreation and The Last of Us, has collaborated with Lagavulin on their fourth limited-edition single malt Scotch release together.
The result is Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Caribbean Rum Cask Finish Aged 11 Years.
“Laboring together with Lagavulin blending master Stuart Morrison, we have landed upon our most delicious, exotic liquid yet,” Offerman says. “Now to silence the scandal-mongers. There have been many accusations leveled against me regarding my desire to concoct the perfect dram to sit and sip whilst viewing my favorite mermaid musicals, so that I might feel even more fully like a Scottish-Caribbean underwater siren-princess. To these scurrilous abusers I have only this to say: what I do in my own time, whether under the sea or above it, is nobody’s business but my own. Slàinte mhath.”
This single malt aged for 11 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, then finished for more than eight months in ex-Caribbean Rum casks. Sweet and peaty smoky flavors combine with notes of lemon meringue, honey, vanilla, toffee, golden cinnamon and a maritime brine, the company reports.
To accompany the launch, Lagavulin and Nick Offerman have once again teamed up to create a comedic video spot for the “My Tales of Whisky” series on YouTube. The video follows Nick on a whimsical journey as he sets sail to make this newest Lagavulin expression.
This Friday, May 10, LDA Los Angeles residents can experience Offerman and his whisky adventures firsthand by stepping into a multi-sensory installation in Venice Beach. The pop-up will be located at 57 Wynward Ave. To receive your invitation, enroll on AnyRoad.
This limited-edition Single Malt rolls out nationwide for the suggested retail price of $89.99 per 750-ml. bottle. Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Caribbean Rum Cask Finish is also available via TheBar.com, where shipping and delivery options are available.
