As the spirits industry continues efforts in diversity and inclusion, the Bourbon Women Association Board of Directors has announced formation of the new Bourbon Women Education Foundation.

This 501(c)3 nonprofit will raise and disperse funds for Bourbon Women educational opportunities. These include the Amber Circle training and leadership cohort program, and other educational opportunities that support women and people from diverse backgrounds in the beverage alcohol and related industries.

The foundation will fund educational opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing new careers in the beverage alcohol industry and related sectors, as well as professional development. Additional opportunities will be available for individuals already in the spirits industry.

The foundation will also support educational and professional development opportunities. This includes formal educational programs, internal and external training programs, innovation activities, multidisciplinary exposure and professional development along many different paths.

Rebecca Quick donated the seed money to start the Foundation in memory of her daughter, Dr. Rhonda Quick of Tucson, AR. Dr. Quick, a vascular surgeon, passed away on March 17, 2019. She was a supporter of the mission of the Bourbon Women Association, and often traveled from Arizona to attend Bourbon Women events. Rebecca and her sister Regina, continue to be involved with Bourbon Women. Regina will serve as the first chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

“Bourbon Women is so appreciative of the support of the Quick family,” says Bourbon Women Board Chair Heather Wibbels. “Their bequest and their leadership will allow Bourbon Women to further support all women both within and outside the spirits industry.”
