Mother’s Day is Sunday May 9, and like most people this year, Mom probably needs a drink. Something refreshing, fruity and pretty would fit the bill; here are seven cocktail recipe ideas to celebrate mothers and special women everywhere.
Rosé French Fashioned

4 oz. Maison Marcel rosé
1 oz. Ultra-premium bourbon
2 dashes Rhubarb bitters
1 Sugar cube (or ½ oz. substitute sweetener)
Strawberry-infused ice cubes (sliced and frozen with cubes, larger cube the better)
Place sugar cube in Old Fashioned glass and saturate with bitters, add a dash of plain water. Muddle until dissolved. Fill the glass with strawberry ice cubes and add wine andbourbon. Garnish with brandied cherry and grapefruit peel.

Vernal Sun
1 ½ oz. Juniper Grove Atrium Gin
¾ oz. Fresh lemon juice
½ oz. Elderflower syrup
¼ oz. Passion fruit liqueur
1 pinch Salt
Add all components to a shaking tin and shake with ice. Double strain into stemmed glass with rose crystal rim. Garnish with edible flowers, lemon twist, and enjoy!

Endless Summer
1 ½ parts Reyka Vodka
1 part Chardonnay
8-10 seedless red grapes
¾ part Lemon juice
¾ part Simple syrup
Place 8-10 seedless red grapes into the Collins glass and muddle. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir. Garnish with a few whole grapes.

Ginger Spiced Watermelon Mojito
1 ½ oz. White rum
3 oz. Fresh-pressed watermelon juice
Splash of simple syrup
Ginger beer
Muddle the lime and mint together. Add in the white rum and a splash of simple syrup. Strain over a glass of fresh ice. Top with a splash of ginger beer. Garnish with a watermelon slice, fresh mint sprig, and a lime wedge

Berry Margarita
1 ½ oz. Recuerdo Mezcal Joven
1 ½ oz. Mixed berry puree (puree frozen strawberry/blueberry/raspberry medley with water to ensure a thick but mixable consistency)
½ oz. Cardamom syrup*
½ oz. Orange juice
Shake all ingredients over ice and serve in a chilled Martini glass, garnish with cardamom powder.
*For Cardamom syrup:
Bring 16 oz. of water to a low boil, add 16 oz. of sugar, and 6-8 cardamom pods and allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Allow to cool for 1-2 hours, strain.

Cherry Smash
1 ½ oz. Nolet’s Silver sin
5-6 Muddled cherries
½ oz. Lime juice
2 oz. Coconut water
¼ oz. Simple syrup (optional)
Muddle cherries with lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Add coconut water and simple syrup (if coconut water isn’t sweet enough) and shake with ice. Pour over ice in a highball glass and garnish with a cherry, jalapeno and a dash of salt.

Mama’s Pink Paloma
3 oz. YaVe Blanco tequila
½ oz. Fresh lime juice
2 oz. Fresh grapefruit juice
5 Raspberries
2 oz. Club soda
Muddle raspberries in a cup. Once muddled, add lime juice, grapefruit and tequila. Shake for 10 seconds then add ice. Strain the cocktail into a separate glass and top with soda.
