Sunday is Rum Day, and what better way to honor the cane spirit’s national holiday on Aug. 16 than mixing up a few specialty cocktails? Here are a few that caught our eye for 2020.
Pineapple Sour

2 oz. Tiki Lovers Pineapple rum
1 oz. Fresh lemon juice
¾ oz. Sugar syrup
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain in a rocks glass filled with ice.

Cabana Culture
1 ½ parts Bacardi Superior rum
1 part St. Germain elderflower liqueur
3 parts Mango-passion fruit nectar
2 parts Coconut milk or cream
1 part Sweetened condensed milk
½ parts Lime juice
Pinch of sea salt or kosher salt
Combine ingredients in a blender. Add a cup of ice and blend until smooth. Pour into a fun glass.

Living Free
¾ oz. Blue Chair Bay white rum
¾ oz. Lemon vodka
¾ oz. Citrus sour
¾ oz. Raspberry-infused syrup
1 oz. Lemon-lime soda

Mango Madness
1 ½ oz. Bounty rum
3 oz. Fresh mango puree
1 tsp. Lime juice
1 tsp. Simple syrup
Dash bitters
Combine rum, mango puree, lime juice and bitters in a shaker. Cover and shake quickly and hard. Strain into a large tumbler filled with ice. Garnish with a fresh mango slice.

Lost in Paradise
1 ¼ oz. Santa Teresa 1796 rum
1 oz. Fresh carrot juice
¾ oz. Fresh carrot spiced syrup
½ oz. Triple sec
½ oz. Fresh lemon juice
1 egg white
Combine all ingredients and dry shake for 10 seconds. Add ice, shake until chilled. Double strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a star anise and carrot powder.

Fro-Groni
1 oz. Ron Barceló Imperial rum
1 oz. Campari
1 oz. Sweet vermouth
2 oz. Blood orange juice
1 cup of ice
In a blender, add all ingredients and blend. Pour in chilled rocks glass and garnish with fresh sliced blood orange.

Honey Old Fashioned
1 ½ oz. Mount Gay Black Barrel rum
1 Bar spoon Honey
2 Dashes Angostura bitters
Pour all ingredients into an Old Fashioned glass. Add ice cubes and stir with a bar spoon. Garnish with burnt orange zest.

Caribbean Margarita
1 oz. Mt. Gay rum
1 oz. Patron Silver tequila
¾ oz. Malibu rum
½ oz. Velvet Falernum
1 oz. Pineapple juice
¼ oz. Simple syrup
¼ oz. Fresh lime juice
Pinch salt
Add ingredients and ice to mixing glass, shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice.
