Columbus, OH-based restaurant group Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) has named Andrea Hoover beverage director. Hoover will oversee the development of all beverage-related programs, partner relationships, training and staffing for CMR’s portfolio of 36 restaurants under 16 concepts, as well as The Rusty Bucket brand.
Hoover, who joined CMR in February 2012 as a server and bar chef at M at Miranova in Columbus, most recently served as the company’s beverage operations manager. In that role since 2015, Hoover has been developing beverage programs for both the company’s existing and new concepts, and training new bar associates.
A leader in the growing low-proof cocktail trend, Hoover also helped created the beverage offerings for the restaurant group’s dinner—hosted by founder Cameron Mitchell—at the historic James Beard House in December 2017. Mitchell started the company in 1993; CMR includes the Ocean Prime brand with locations in Beverly Hills; Boston; Chicago; Columbus, Dallas; Denver; Detroit; Indianapolis; Naples, Tampa and Orlando, FL; New York; Philadelphia; Phoenix; and Washington, D.C.
