Orphan Barrel Whiskey Distilling Company has unveiled its latest release: Rhetoric 24-Year-Old.

This is the 12th release from the Diageo-owned company that puts out old and rare whiskies, following the 25-year-old Canadian whiskey Entrapment.

Rhetoric 24-Year-Old is also the fourth variant in the Rhetoric series of progressively aged bourbon. The whiskeys will continue to be progressively aged and re-released annually at a year older, allowing whiskey fans to collect and compare the whiskeys side-by-side. Rhetoric 24-Year-Old is 43.5% ABV, slightly higher than past variations.

Rhetoric stocks were found in the old Stitzel-Weller Warehouses in Louisville, Ky., the company says. The whiskey was distilled between 1990-1993 at the Bernheim Distillery, historically located at 17th and Breckenridge in Louisville, Ky., while owned and operated by United Distillers. The whiskey is bottled in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

The mash bill for Rhetoric Whiskey is 86% corn, 8% barley and 6% rye.

Aromas include vanilla oak, brown sugar and chocolate. Taste begins with orchard fruit accented with a hint of allspice, and gives way to a warming finish with of nutmeg and caramel notes, the company says.

The suggested retail price is $130 per 750-ml. bottle.
