Founded nearly 100 years ago, LeCompte Calvados is an apple brandy from the Normandy region in France. The Lecompte distillery is based in the center of the Pays d‘Auge in the Notre Dame de Courson village. Centuries-old apple orchards produce an array of apple varieties from the region.
LeCompte Original 3 Year has aromas of ripe apples, green pears, peach, and white grapes blended with spice and honey. The finish provides an aromatic balance of wood and apple, the company says. This Calvados is ideal as an aperitif or mixed in a cocktail.
LeCompte Calvados 5 Year is aged in oak barrels, which results in a balance of fruit and vanilla flavors with a hint of wood.
LeCompte Calvados 12 Year features a balance between herbs and very ripe apples with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon, resulting from maturing in a Port barrel over time.
For connoisseurs of old Calvados, Lecompte offers 25 Year Calvados that features complex aromas derived from prune, apple and rhubarb jam and may be enjoyed solo or with a fine cigar.
The suggested retail price of LeCompte Calvados 5 Year is $39.99 per 750-ml. bottle. The SRP of other LeCompte Calvados brandies vary according to the aging of the product.
