High Dive Napa Valley Red Blend

12/12/2017

by: Kyle Swartz

High Dive Napa Valley is a limited-production red that pays homage to the Napa Valley blends of the 1970s.

High Dive is a “Left Bank” Bordeaux-styled blend. The first release of the 2014 vintage comprises predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc playing supporting roles in the blend.

The wine is a reflection of two micro-climates. The Oakville AVA from where fruit is sourced provides ripe fruit and richness, while the Carneros AVA gives a fresh acidity, the company says.

High Dive’s winemaking team includes fourth-generation winemaker Peter Heitz, born and raised in the Napa Valley. Heitz has been the winemaker at Turnbull Wine Cellars since 2007.

The suggested retail price is $95 per 750-ml. bottle.

This is Share A Splash Wine Co.‘s first entry into the Napa Valley luxury wine market. High Dive follows the “carefree and lighthearted” naming conventions of Share A Splash’s other wines, like Cannonball and Angels & Cowboys. Founded in 2006 as Cannonball Wine Company, the Healdsburg, California-based Share A Splash produces and manages a portfolio of wines, available in 45 states..
