Kayla Hasbrook this week was named winner of the 2017 Stoli Key West Cocktail Classic.
Calling itself the world’s largest annual LGBT bartending competition, the fourth annual event was held as part of LGBT Pride Month celebrations.
Hasbrook, bartender at ABC Cocina in New York City, was one of 17 regional finalists across North America to compete in the grand finale. Her prize includes a $12,500 donation to Planned Parenthood and a local Key West, FL charity.
Hasbook’s winning cocktail was called “No Sleep ’til Sunrise.” The recipe was as follows: 1 ½ oz. Stoli Premium, ½ oz. turmeric infused blanc vermouth, ½ oz. lime juice, ¾ oz. pineapple juice, ½ oz. simple syrup. Combine ingredients, shake, and serve on the rocks.
The Cocktail Classic culminates each year at Key West Pride to “celebrate the special place Key West has had for years as one of the LGBT community’s most popular destinations and original safe havens,” the company says.
