Côtes de Provence AOP Rosés

05/18/2017

by: Kyle Swartz

The importer August Wine Group has announced an exclusive partnership with the Fabre family of Provence.

They will produce two estate-grown rosés for the U.S. and international markets, both under the Fabre en Provence brand moniker: Côtes de Provence AOP Rosé and Côtes de Provence AOP Cru Classé Rosé.

The Fabre family is France’s largest family producer of cru classé rosés, the company says, with two of Provence’s 18 cru classé designations bearing its crest.

The 2016 Fabre en Provence Côtes de Provence AOP Rosé is a blend of Black Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault. The grapes are selected from three vineyards to give the wine its spiciness and acidity, the company says. The palate is bright, racy and lush, the company reports, with a touch of raspberry and pine on the finish. The suggested retail price is $15 per 750-ml. bottle.

The 2016 Fabre en Provence Côtes de Provence AOP Cru Classé Rosé is a blend of Syrah, Cinsault and Grenache from the Chateau de l’Aumerade vineyard located in the town of Pierrefeu-du-Var. The suggested retail price is $22 per 750-ml. bottle.

Both Fabre en Provence rosés are available nationwide.
