Copper & Kings Brandy Expands Distribution Into California, Michigan

10/05/2016

by: Kyle Swartz

Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. is expanding its distribution footprint.

The Louisville-based company reports that it has appointed new distribution and broker representation partners for its brandy and absinthe spirits in two states: California and Michigan.

The craft distiller launched spirits in Kentucky in June 2014 and will distribute products to 28 total states by the end of 2016, it says.

“California is the largest spirits market in America, and the largest brandy/cognac market in the nation. We are incredibly excited to bring our interpretation of American Brandy to the whole Golden State,” says  CEO Joe Heron. “Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits have all the scale, depth and expertise to help us succeed in a very dynamic and competitive market.”

“We are also enthused and energized to enter the Michigan market with our partners at Republic National Distributing Company,” adds senior vice president of commercial operations Shane Rietow. “We believe Michigan will be very fertile ground for our take on American grape and apple brandy, we can’t wait.”

Copper and Kings brandy and absinthe are distilled in copper pot-stills, and are non-chill filtered with no post-distillation infusion of boisé (oak flavor or infusion), the company says.
