The Dalmore 35

09/23/2016

by: Kyle Swartz

The Dalmore luxury brand has announced its newest limited release: The Dalmore 35 single malt, available this October.

Displayed within a bespoke Baccarat decanter, The Dalmore 35 has been “under the careful watch of the Distillery’s Master Distiller, Richard Paterson for the past thirty-five years,” the company says in a press release.

“Age has tempered and tamed this noble spirit to absolute perfection as seductive aromas of crushed almonds, coffee mousse, soft liquorice and moist ginger bread opens this panacea of exuberance,” says Paterson.

Patterson spends his time traveling the world in search of ideal casks in which to age his whisky. The Dalmore 35 is derived from three wood profiles: a distillery-run Bourbon barrel, a Matusalem Sherry Butt and a Port Colheita Pipe.

Only a limited number of bottles of The Dalmore 35 will be released, each priced at $5,500 per 750-ml. bottle.

The bottle features the iconic 12-pointed Royal Stag, which was awarded to the founding Mackenzie Clan after they saved King Alexander from a charging stag, the company says. As soon as the Mackenzie family acquired The Dalmore Distillery, they adorned every bottle of The Dalmore with the emblem, which continues to be a distinguishing feature of their collection.
