Website Allows Drinkers to File for Beck’s Refund Following Lawsuit

10/26/2015

by: Kyle Swartz

Becks601A website has been launched that lets drinkers file for a refund after the recent agreement in the Beck’s labeling lawsuit‘.

This comes after Anheuser-Busch agreed to pay up to $28 million in a settlement over a class action lawsuit regarding Beck’s beer labels. The lawsuit claims that Beck’s beer is not a imported product, as the label may lead to believe, but rather a domestic beer brewed in St. Louis.

Moreover, the lawsuit alleges that this false label allowed Anheuser-Busch to charge a premium price for a purportedly imported beverage.

According to the website, Anheuser-Busch “denies [these] claims and charges, denies that it has violated any laws, and believes that its labeling, packaging, and marketing of Beck’s Beer have always been truthful and not deceptive.”

The label states that Beck’s originated in Germany, but is now made in St. Louis, according to Anheuser-Busch.

Nevertheless, last week in a Florida federal court, the company agreed to paying out refunds.

Certain claimants are eligible for 50 cents per six pack, $1 for each 12-pack, and $1.75 for each 20-pack of 12-ounce bottles. Households with proof of purchase will receive $50 max, while those without can only receive $12 total.
