Tipsi, the location-powered food and wine pairing guide and integrated wine management tool, has launched its first core restaurant partnership with New York City’s Pierre Loti, now active in the Chelsea, Manhattan location.
Available in app, website and tablet form, Tipsi enhances the dining experience with an innovative and unique-to-the-market approach to digitizing the restaurant space, the company says.
Diners are able to browse Pierre Loti’s full menu, complete with photos and descriptions via iPads provided by the restaurants. Using the digital menus, diners can choose from the wine list based on sommelier-approved selections generated by algorithmic technology that pairs each dish on the menu with appropriate matching suggestions.
“We’re hoping to simplify and alleviate some of the stress involved in wine list navigation, while letting our users have fun with customized wine pairing recommendations,” says CEO and co-founder Mike Bell.” At the same time, there’s a huge opportunity to streamline wine list and inventory management on-premise, and Pierre Loti’s concise menu and excellent wine list allow us to fill that space at ideal capacity.”
Tipsi is available for free on iPhone (Apple Store) and Android (Google Play).
The app also lets users scan labels and build their own digital wine cellars, and the geo-powered technology locates the nearest restaurant that carries each label they add.
