Barton & Guestier Héritage Syrah, Grenache Blend

06/29/2015

by: The Staff

Barton & Guestier this year celebrates 290 years since Irishman Thomas Barton settled in Bordeaux to make wines. To mark the occasion, the company has scheduled a series of celebrations, contests and a special new wine in honor of the wine company’s history.

This includes the launch this month of Héritage.

Inspired by the “pioneering spirit of Barton & Guestier founders who traveled all over France to find the best grapes,” the company says, Héritage is a blend of Syrah and Grenache sourced from the region north of the Languedoc and south of the Rhône (Duché d’Uzès AOC).

From this region, the B&G winemaking team created a “signature-styled wine with aromas of rich black fruit, spices and a palate with harmonious structure,” the company says.

Packaged in a distinctive bottle reminiscent of original Barton & Guestier wines, Héritage is available in the U.S. in select accounts on allocation for a suggested retail price of $19.99.

This summer, Barton & Guestier fans worldwide will also have a chance to win a trip for two to visit the company’s Chateau Magnol. In addition to being a AOC Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois wine, Château Magnol is also the company’s headquarters, a guesthouse and a wine school: the B&G Food & Wine Academy. Look for entry details on the company’s website and Facebook page.
