There’s a new destination on the San Francisco Bay Area bar scene, and it’s on the move.
Bar Car, the Bay Area’s first mobile bar, inverts the typical party setup by bringing the party to the people. Built into a retrofitted 1965 Airstream trailer, it’s a fully loaded mobile bar.
The vehicle is the brainchild of entrepreneur Greg Medow. “We bring the party to your home, your private tailgate, wedding or corporate event and free you up to enjoy your own party,” said Medow in a press release.
The side opens up to reveal a full liquor bar of your choosing with a self-serve beer tap pouring local brews and specialty cocktails. The basics include a sound system with an iPod plug-in, as well as cocktail tables, bar stools and umbrellas. Provided party games include Ping Pong with 20 paddles to play “Berlin style,” and the Corn Hole beanbag toss game. Bar Car staff will teach these games to anyone unsure of the rules.
Designed by Nomad Airstream of Upstate New York, Bar Car fuses mid-century modern design for a retro chic look, according to a press release. Interior design details include stainless steel cabinets throughout the brushed aluminum interior with cobalt blue accents, a mahogany bar, LED floor lighting to create soft, indirect light and dimmable overhead lights. A mahogany outlined chalkboard features drink specials for each select event.
Bar Car is available for private parties and events and can be customized to meet your needs. Pricing begins at $25 per person and a minimum of $1,000. For more information or to book Bar Car, visit barcarsf.com or call (415) 843-1150.
