Manhattan Hotel Mixes Luxury with Libations

02/17/2015

by: The Staff

A Manhattan hotel is serving up a cocktail of luxury, fine whiskey and craft education.

The Warwick New York Hotel– a midtown destination originally built in the 1920’s by William Randolph Hearst — has introduced their Whiskey Please! – The Sophisticated Gentlemen’s Package.

Randolph Suite.2

The Randolph Suite

Travelers who book the Tier 1 version of the package will stay in the Randolph Suite, a 977-square-foot retreat on the 21st floor, and can enjoy an in-room selection of whiskey (customized upon booking).

The Tier 1 package also includes a private tasting of six distinct whiskeys with Allen Katz, mixologist and co-founder of New York Distilling Company. In addition to educating guests on how these whiskeys are made and how they should be enjoyed, Katz will also teach them how to enhance their tasting experience by advising what each libation should be paired with.

Whiskeys that are currently offered through the package (although subject to change) include Suntory Yamazaki, a Japanese single malt; Girvan 25-year-old, a rich and complex single-grain Scotch whiskey; and Dalmore King Alexander III, a special-edition expression derived from the combination of six whiskeys that are each matured in a distinctive cask: ex-bourbon, Matusalem oloroso sherry, Madeira, marsala, port pipes, and Cabernet Sauvignon wine barrels.

The Tier 1 package also includes four whiskey tumblers adorned with the Warwick insignia, and optional black car service for an evening on the town (pricing upon request). Rates begin at $3,500 per night, based upon quad occupancy consisting of accommodations in the Randolph Suite as well as its adjacent ensuite. There is a two-night minimum stay requirement, and two week advance notice for Allen Katz appearance. The six whiskeys used for the tastings will be the customer’s to keep after the event.

The Tier 2 package includes: Accommodations for two in a Warwick New York guestroom of choice, a welcome bottle of fine whiskey on arrival day, four Warwick tumblers, and optional black car service. Rates begin at $500 per night based upon double occupancy, with a two-night minimum stay requirement.

The Whiskey Please! Package is currently available for booking through March 31, 2015.
