The first-ever InterContinental Top Shelf Cocktail Competition wrapped up with the finals in Miami last week, and Jaders Calcaño of InterContinental San Juan was named the Grand Prize Winner for his creation of the Coqui Nite Cap.
Since August, mixologists from InterContinental Hotels & Resorts have been creating cocktails reflective of each hotel’s destination. Before a panel of esteemed judges, Calcaño came out on top. Below is the recipe for his winning drink.
Coqui Nite Cap
2 oz. Bacardi 8
1 oz. Coconut water
1 oz. Pineapple juice
3 drops Cardamom Bitters
1 Lemon peel
Mist of Hickory Smoke Syrup
Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake well and double strain in a rock glass over ice. Garnish with lemon peel.
