Despite the best efforts of craft bartenders and classic cocktail enthusiasts, gin remains a tough sell with many consumers. The botanical spirit commands just 5.3% of the U.S. distilled spirits market, and gin sales have been relatively flat. But interest in craft cocktails, plus new styles and flavors now available are enrougaging some guests to get more adventurous about gin.

T�rst means �thirst� in Danish, but customers can do more than quench their thirsts at this uber-beer bar in Brooklyn, NY. Since it opened last spring, critics have heaped superlatives upon T�rst, heralding it as the �best beer bar in the world.�

1� oz. Gin
1oz. Pom pomegranate juice
� oz. Fresh lemon juice
3 Basil leaves
Club soda
Muddle basil in a mixing glass. Add ice, Disaronno, gin, pomegranate juice and lemon juice and shake well. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Add club soda and garnish with lemon peel and basil leaf.

It comes in 375-ml., 750-ml. and 1.75-liter sizes and sells for a suggested retail price of $11.99 for a 750-ml. bottle.
