To prevent sickness as the weather gets colder, I drink Penicillin. Not the kind you’re thinking of: This version is balanced combination of peaty scotch, lemon juice, fresh ginger and honey. It keeps me healthy and my thirst quenched! I prescribe this drink to any guest who shows symptoms of a cold.
Penicillin
1½ oz. Dewar’s White Label Scotch whiskey
½ oz. Laphroaig 10 year old Scotch whisky
½ oz. Lemon juice
½ oz. Honey syrup
½ in. Piece of ginger, muddled
Combine all ingredients, shake and double strain over ice. Garnish with slices of ginger and lemon twist.
