I’m drinking a lot of crisp whites. We have two new additions to the Storefront Company wine list that not only pair well with the starters and fish our chef has been highlighting on the August menu, but drink very well on their own.
The first is the 2008 Marjan Simcic sauvigon blanc from Brda region in Slovenia is stunning. A complex nose, showing mineral, grapes and herbs, with a nutty palate of pure fruit.
The other wine is the 2012 Linne Calodo ‘Contrarian’ White Rhone Blend. Floral notes on the nose, with great tropical fruits on the palate laced with a limestone and chalky minerality.
