Beer-centric chain Yard House has unveiled a new “Eat Late” menu aimed at the after-hours crowd. The offering, available nightly after 10 p.m., includes a Black Truffle Cheeseburger for $7.95, a Pastrami Dog ($6.75), and Monte Cristo Pops ($6.35), which are ham, turkey and Swiss cheese mini-sandwiches deep-fried and dusted with powdered sugar and served with a jalapeno peach syrup.
The new selection builds on the restaurant’s popular Late-Night Happy Hour offered in most areas Sunday-Wednesday from 10 p.m.-close and features select half-price, full portion appetizers and drink specials. To add to the after-hours ambiance, after 10 p.m., Yard House locations dim the lights and crank up the music.
The chain’s beverage offering includes 100 to 250 beers on tap, craft cocktails, “skinny drinks” and wines by the bottle or glass. Yard House’s Eat Late menu is inspired by the affordable, urban street food movement, according to the Irvine, CA-based operator. Founded in 1996, Yard House now boasts 43 locations in 16 states and is part of Darden Restaurants.
Yard House isn’t the only chain operator with eyes on the late-night crowd, however. Applebee’s in August went national with a program called bee’s Late Night designed to attract twenty- and thirtysomething singles with appetizers and drink specials and entertainment like karaoke, dance music and theme nights.
