2013 BevEx Overall Winner: Hard Rock Cafe

2013 Cheers Oscar Night Drinks


We received a number of great recipes created to celebrate the Academy Awards, which will take place on Sunday, February 24. Thanks to everyone who submitted their Red Carpet-worthy drinks!


Anne & Georges (Inspired by Amour)


3 oz. Cupcake Moscato


4 oz. Hoegaarden Wheat beer


1 oz. The Perfect Purée El Corazon


½ oz. Simple syrup


Flamed orange peel for garnish


 


In a wine glass, combine ingredients with ice and stir. Garnish with a flamed orange peel and serve.

Dos-Arita

½ oz. Tequila


¼ oz. Triple Sec


2 oz. Sour Mix


12 oz. Dos Equis Lager Especial


Lime wedge and coarse kosher salt for garnish


 


Combine tequila, triple sec and sour mix over ice in a mixing glass and shake. Pour over ice in a 16 oz. glass, salted or unsalted (for frozen, mix in a blender with ice). Top with Dos Equis Lager. Garnish with a lime wedge.

The brand has backed off from its decision to reduce the proof of Maker’s Mark down to 84, and will continue production at 90 proof going forward.

Kahlua Midnight


Pernod Ricard has launched a new addition to its Kahlua portfolio with the debut of Kahlua Midnight, a 70-proof mix of rum and black coffee liqueur. The new product is said to be smooth and bold with a slight sweetness, according to the company. Kahlua Midnight is available for a suggested retail price of $23.99 for a 750-ml. bottle.



Wolfgang Puck Red Blend


Wolfgang Puck Wines has added a red blend to its lineup of four varietals (cabernet sauvignon, merlot, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc). The wines are created by the Indelicato family, owners of California’s DFV Wines.
