The Ultimate Beverage Challenge held its second annual Ultimate Blast at the Marriott Marqius in New York, where founders F. Paul Pacult, Sue Woodley and David Talbot hosted nearly 2,000 industry enthusiasts. The Ultimate Blast featured tastings of more than 100 cocktails, 300 spirits and 120 wines, more than 70 exhibits and six lounges.
New York City mixologists Jim Meehan, Joaquin Simo and Eryn Reece were among the guest cocktail mixers, and David Wondrich, Jill DeGroff, Karen Foley and others were on hand for book signings.
The event also featured tastings of the Chairman’s Trophy winners from the 2011 UBC spirits, cocktail and wine challenges, including Wakefield St. Andrews Estate 2006 shiraz, Michael Collins irish whiskey and the Cointreau Cup cocktail.
