From the release about the event:

You’re Invited! Double Helix Event Encourages Responsible Consumption for Beverage Professionals

Women Executives in the Beverage Industry (WEBI) and Tobin Ellis, owner of BarMagic and Double Helix Wine & Whiskey Bar in Las Vegas, are hosting “An Evening of Enrichment and Inspiration” at the Double Helix on November 7.

Featuring a host of guest master mixologists and a silent auction, the event kicks off an industry-wide educational initiative being sponsored by a number of national spirits brands as well as WEBI to discourage beverage and hospitality workers from drinking and driving. Proceeds from the event will benefit the recovery fund of Meghan Leary, a beverage industry executive who was critically injured in an automobile accident in New York last July shortly after leaving an industry-hosted cocktail program.

In addition to Ellis, Francesco Lafranconi, Patricia Richards, Naomi Schimek, Josh Harris, Scott Baird and Tricia Alley will take their turns behind the bar, as WEBI shares details of the new program, which was born of the growing incidence of alcohol-related accidents and deaths among industry professionals, particularly following hospitality industry events. The program aims to increase awareness, encourage responsible consumption and promote designated driver initiatives.

The list of sponsors for this ongoing program continues to grow but currently includes Beam Global, William Grant & Sons, Disaranno, Macchu Pisco, Uber Bar Tools, Cheers, In the Mix, BeMyDD and many others. The educational platform of the program will expand as more brands become involved.

Please plan to attend this very important event on Monday, November 7, from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. If you can’t make it but would like to donate to the Meghan Leary Recovery Fund, please visit WEBI’s “Drink. Don’t Drive.” page on Facebook, or send a check made out to Meghan Leary Recovery Fund to WEBI Treasurer Katie Smith at 281 Bonds Parkway, Berea, OH 44017.
