(CHICAGO) Harry Caray’s Restaurant Group, one of Chicago’s most dynamic and successful restaurant management companies, will debut Harry Caray’s Tavern on Navy Pier, its eighth restaurant, on March 1, 2010.
Harry Caray’s Tavern is located near the main entrance to Navy Pier and will offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience. The waterfront location, family-friendly menu and museum quality collection of Chicago sports memorabilia will delight guests of all ages. The expansive patio with an island bar will provide a front row seat to enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan, along with the sights and sounds of Navy Pier in the warmer months. The outdoor patio will accommodate 215 guests and the interior will hold 300.
The menu will offer flavorful sandwiches and wraps, pastas, fresh salads and homemade pizzas. Guests can also enjoy several favorites from the legendary Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse, as well as Harry’s signature Holy Cow!® Burger Bar. Burger options include the finest varieties of beef, including Japanese style Wagyu beef and Bill Kurtis’ grass-fed Tallgrass Beef, turkey, salmon and veggie. Guests can choose from a wide selection of toppings, including Crispy Buttermilk Onion Strings, Applewood Smoked Bacon and Gruyère Cheese. A tantalizing assortment of freshly baked buns will finish off the perfect burger.
The décor reflects Harry Caray’s signature style with mahogany paneled walls, pressed tin ceiling and mosaic tile floor creating a truly warm Chicago atmosphere. Located throughout the restaurant is an extensive collection of artifacts, celebrity photographs and vintage newspapers, which celebrate Chicago sports legends and events, past and present. Harry’s museum, located within the restaurant, features beautifully crafted display cabinets with a rotating collection of museum-quality sports memorabilia. Notable items include the Infamous Cubs Foul Ball, Geovany Soto’s full catcher’s gear worn during his rookie year and Harry Caray’s signature eyeglasses.
With 30 flat-screens located throughout both the indoor and outdoor bars, as well as strategically placed in the dining room, Harry’s will be the perfect place to watch all sporting events at any time of year.
Harry Caray’s Tavern, Navy Pier will also be an exceptional venue for private events of all types. Accommodating groups ranging from 20-500 guests, Harry’s will be ideal for tour groups, corporate events and social celebrations for both children and adults.
