The oldest whisky ever released by famed distillery Macallan is now available at the Montage Beverly Hills hotel’s speakeasy, £10. The 72- year-old Macallan Single Malt Scotch, in the Genesis Decanter, is available in £10 for $12,000 per dram (a 2-oz. pour) and $6,000 for 1/2 dram (1-oz.).
Cocktails at £10 are served tableside from Lalique crystal glassware with ice spheres of water imported from the Scottish Highlands. But rare-Scotch seekers can’t just show with wads of money: The bar is only accessible to people who book a reservation directly through the hotel. You can also text head bartender Cash Black personally to reserve one of the 35 seats.
Other rare spirits available at £10 include the 65-year-old Macallan, which is priced at $5,000 a dram, among others. You can also see a special bottle of whisky from the royal marriage (that is not for sale) sitting on a shelf of rare whiskies that alone is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
